FAQ - Defensive Driving School

In the fall of 2024, the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) mailed letters to parents who once had an open dependency and/or severance case.

Did you receive a letter? Visit the DCS letter page for more information.

Can I change my mind after I choose to attend a defensive driving class?

Yes, you can decide to change your mind and either pay your fine or attend your scheduled hearing, as long as the class HAS NOT started.  Once the class starts this is no longer an option.  You must contact the court to see what your options are if you miss or are late to your class.
