FAQ - Appealing to an Appellate Court

In the fall of 2024, the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) mailed letters to parents who once had an open dependency and/or severance case.

What is a Request for Review?

It is an appeal to the Administrative Law Judge Division (ALJ) that heard your case and the first step in the appellate process.  If you disagree with the award of the ALJ, you must file a Request for Review to say why you disagree.
