Basic Steps of a Civil Appeal to the Superior Court
There are ten basic steps for appealing a municipal or justice court ruling to a Superior Court
- Receive final order or judgment from a lower court (municipal or justice)
- File a Notice of Appeal/Designation of Record
- Pay or get fee waiver of the fee/cost bond of the lower court
- Pay supersedeas bond (optional)
- Order trial records
- File Memorandum
- Appellee files memorandum
- Pay fees or Superior Court waives/defers them
- Present oral argument (if permitted)
- Wait for the decision of the Superior Court
